Hello, after 19 hours of flying, I am finally home :cheer:
Flight was ok, but I had major nausea and threw up in Dubai airport - I am quite pleased, it is quite a good symptom. :cheer:

However, With transfers and everything else, it has taken us 23 hours to get home and now my calfs and ankles are quite swollen. They aren't painful, but the skin feels tight and uncomfortable. I have tried putting my feet up for a bit but nothing has change yet? Do you think it is just a bit of fluid retention?

i have never flown myself but thats what i guess it would be did you not get any flight socks to wear as that helps i think?
id say defo rest your feet if still bad by monday phone local a&e if your dr's like mine is shut :D
manda xx

Welcome back! I think if it was me I'd phone nhs direct just to be on the safe side hun. It's probably just fluid retention but better to be on the safe side considering your pg. I hope the swelling goes down soon, put your feet up

give nhs direct a call and i should think they'll be able to give some advice for u ! welcome home !

Thanks peeps. I have been asleep all evening with my feet raised above my heart and the swelling already looks like it is reducing :cheer: :cheer:

I am going to monitor it and maybe call NS direct tomorrow if it hasn't improved enough.

Sounds like it was just water retention. Glad it's getting better :D

Welcome home hun :D Hope you had a wonderful time. Glad to hear swelling is going down but I would defo ring NHS direct if your at all worried.

Sorry to hear that, try soaking your totsies in some water with epsom salts

Hong Kong and Thailand :D
I was dreading flights too, I am a very nervous flyer. Usually I take diazepam, but couldn't because I was pg. My therapist (see one for severe anxiety) gave me some brilliant breathing/meditation techniques though..they really helped calm me down. At one point I was so focused on my breathing I fell asleep through rough turbulance!
Flying is one of the safest methods of transprot, you will be fine!!. Remember to keep moving, exercising and drinking plenty of water.
