I bought the summer monitor (before I joined the forum and read the reviews I might add) and it was rubbish, however not to be deterred I bought an angelsound fetal monitor on ebay and it works a treat! I've not had the opportunity to hear the heartbeat before but it was totally amazing, I knew what to listen for but it's just so strangely satifying hearing that galloping wild horse beating away in your belly! :D I lay in bed for a while this morning holding the monitor in the same place and just listened to the wee one moving around and kicking and hiccuping! It's mad, I can hear it but can't feel it yet :D

That's made my week, beginning to get sick of just looking like a chunky monkey rather than pregnant. However I do seem to have started a rapid expansion just this week so I don't think it will be long before I look as laden as I feel!

We're 17weeks today, appear o have had a major growth spurt over the last few days so look a lot bigger than I should be!

It's official, I can not only hear Hidalgo kicking but lastnight I felt it! I may be wrong but think it might have something to do with having an Indian curry for dinner  Think he loves it as much as his dad! It's bizzarre, never felt anything before other than the odd bubbling sensation but he went crazy lastnight for about an hour! There are still a lot of things that I obviously can't feel as I put the monitor on to see if I could figure out what he was up to and it nearly deafened me the amount he was jumping around! Can't feel anything today though...maybe he sleeps while I'm at work - wish I could :D
