I've just gotten over a really bad cold, they type that makes everything hurt and the past few days I've had major tooth ache yet again. Woke up this morning and the inside of my top lip and part of my gums is all swollen and tender like I've been punched in the mouth. AND my wisdom tooth is coming through so that's extra pain. I feel so down because of it all I just want to curl up in bed until I'm 100% better but I can't just wanted to have a whinge really but also hoping on the off chance of someone knowing a cure lol

aaawww hunni... sending lots of hugs. Damn wisdom teeth there are some lozenges you can get that "numb" your mouth... they are quite expensive - about £5 a pack but they are very good. The name escapes me but go into a chemist and they'll know what you are on about. Failing that.... lots of extra strong mints? I find the strength of them can often "take the edge off" a bit. xxxx

I've been taking codydramol and super stregth ibruprofen, takes the pain away for an hour or so, am hoping the ibuprofen helps with the swelling now too. It's just so depressing, I constantly seem to have something wrong with me, I can't remember the last time I woke up and felt good

I hate toothache . Have you been to a dentist? My OH woke with a swollen mouth and had to have antibiotics as it was an abscess in his tooth. How are you today? X

Haven't been to dentist yet cos I've got a MASSIVE phobia and the thought makes me physically sick. Will probably end up going when I've got no choice lol I know, am silly!

You can buy something called Oragel (sp?) for toothache. It's amazing. You just put some on the affected area and it completely numbs it, like the dentist has given you an injection sorta feeling. I used it for my wisdom teeth alongside cocodamol before I was pg, was awesome Just make sure you don't get it all over the place or you'll be talking funny for hours ha ha xx

Hope you don't mind me barging in, sorry you're feeling bad

Is any of the tooth cut through yet? If so maybe you could try some clove oil? It's soooo minging but it really does help, it numbs the tooth, but it will numb the surrounding area slightly too lol And again it's soooo gross.

My mum's the same about the dentist, I have to book her appts and make sure she goes

Yeah it's partly through, it's weird, the front side of the tooth I'd halfway through but the backs only out a tiny bit lol
Will try all your suggestions girls.. Even the horrible ones!
My mom or Lee has to come with me everytime and while I wait to be called I sit in the corner crying and shaking and if I need more than a check up I have to be sedated!

I'm fine with the dentist these days, but when I was younger was terrified was always having fillings coz of an accident when I was a kid but when I was a kid I just couldn't get used to it. One time my mum lied to me and said I was going for a check up, was about 13ish, well really I was having a filling and when I laid back the dentist started to put the needle towards my mouth so I freaked out went to knock the needle away, but he moved his arm so I ended up punching him in the face haha

He was good about it, I jumped off the chair and sat on a chair in the corner, facing the wall and crying lol

He still refers to me as his sparring partner lol
