We're trying to save money and after a bad experience of Mama's and Papa's cotbeds (the slats underneath snapped in 2) we decided to look at cheaper options. I was in Ikea and spotted the Lensvik range (website) which would add up as follows:

Cot - £75
Changing table/cabinet (2 large drawers) - £93
Toy Chest - £58
Shelf - £22
Wardrobe - on offer at present at £146 for a 3 door

This works out at under £400 for the room. Has anyone on here used or is thinking of using Ikea baby furniture? It's looks as sturdy if not more sturdy than some of the stuff in Mothercare. When you lift the mattresses off the cots the slats are almost as fragile as a pencil.

This is the range that Im buying for my nursery. I thought it looked pretty sturdy and having known people who have bought other bedroom furniture from there I havent heard of any complaints.

I have it, its great, very sturdy and looks amazing (like antique pine - though its obviously not!!)
Bargain!!!

Just had a look on there at the prices as I was originally going to get the two door wardrobe but its showing the two door as £136 and the three door as £184

BE CAREFUL OF THE 3 DOOR

I was telling our news to a girl in work yesterday and mentioned this furniture. I'd said how in our local Ikea the 3 door was only £10 dearer than the 2 door. She said "don't quote me but my sister was going to get the 3 door for the same reason but I have a feeling the sizes were different".

She is right. The 2 door kids bedroom one is 50cm deep but the 3 door belongs to the adults range and is 62cm deep. None of the kids furniture is the same size but it's all less than 50cm deep so you could end up with the wardrobe being too big for either the room or the rest of the furniture.

I have it, it looks lovely and I find it very sturdy.

Might be worth trying the Bargain Basement for this range as there always seems to be some in ours every time we go. We actually got our wardrobe from the BB after there was none on the shelf to take home that day but then I spotted one in the BB already assembled and nothing wring except a scratch down the side but its now concealed by the wall :D We got it for £80

I went to ikea last night and the 3 door was full price, so not sure if it was an offer that has ended or if its only on offer in certain stores.

Thats the range we're going to get. We're waiting for the new IKEA to open in Southampton then we'll be getting it.

Finlay has the £50 cot - white one and its fab :D
