If I don't get a +ve OPK does it mean I'm not ovulating?

Have been OPK testing everyday for the 40 days so far of this cycle (Which started mid cycle). I have not yet got a +ve OPK that I can rely on. (Got one on day 19 but not had af so can't rely on that as luteral phase shouldn't be that long... I also peed above the line...

So... if you don't get a +ve opk does it mean you didn't ovulate? Has anyone had a similar experience?

What time of day are you testing??

You can very easily miss the LH Surge!

I have been testing from 230 to 1030 at night but not at the same time. Thinking I should take it at the same time to be more reliable?

It could be worth testing a little earlier in the day?

Last month I got a + at 1pm and by 4pm it had really faded so it shows how quickly you can miss the surge.

Hi JPS,

I haven't had a +ve yet this month either and I'm on CD28 already. I did have a half/2 thirds strength line on CD24 in the evening so I think I maybe missed the surge and OV'd in the night or something. It's really hard to catch the surge when you have long cycles I get frustrated with it

FF has picked up OV on a day you didn't do an OPK though so maybe you did miss it and you're a few days post OV....?

Thanks, yes it is so frustrating. I have actually been testing every day and twice daily for the last few days. I tested on the day ff said I ovulated (The 8th). I think this is on the chart but I may be reading it wrong.

Thanks for your help and I hope things work out great for you! Will keep an eye on you as your long cycles are like mine. I did get 2 very light periods then havent had one for at least 2 months. During the time since my last period we have been travelling for about 2 weeks and I have been getting more obsessed with TTC so I do wonder if that is delaying ovulation.

I think testing twice a day is the way forward (as long as you have lots of cheapies), I tested around 2pm and then again before I went to bed, and got a positive - well I took it as a positive, although the line wasnt as dark as the control line (I still got my BFP so it must have been positive)....

I have neved had any luck with them... even when I got PG I still had -ves that month...
jsut BD every 2nd day!
