Ok, so decided I quite like Humphrey for a boys name.... But what could it be shortened to that is cute?? Clearly not humph!! Or any other suggestions of similar names ~ old style but not too commonly used. Thanks for help xx

I know a kid called Humphrey and he's always called Humph! Percival? Stanley? Baxter? Arnold? Xx

Really? I was hoping there would be a really cute shortened version but I just can't find one! Just not sure I could have a 'humph!' X

Quite like teddy and ted, but would want a longer name on paper although not sure on Edward or theodore! I am trying really hard to get my head round the idea that this baby could be a boy..... My brain just won't compute it so trying to think of names etc to open my mind up to the idea more! X

I like Teddy too. Do you have a girl name chosen? Humph does sound odd, but I'm used to him being called that now (he's a neighbour's kid). How about Ned? Although I don't know what that's short for! Xx

How about Edgar with teddy/ted for short. It was on my list but does not go with surname

Ah I hadn't thought of Edgar... Not sure we are posh enough to carry it off! Haha!! There are LOTs of girls names I like but think my fave at the mo is Florence honey. Wish upon a star what names are on your list?! Maybe we have similar tastes! X

What about Archie? It's relatively uncommon but not too posh sounding either. :)

Makes me think of Archie from eastenders... And he was not a nice man!! Haha!! Otherwise think I would quite like it. X

what about Bartholomew or Bartolomeo? I like these names. Also maybe Horacio? Humphrey is a lovely name!!!

Ok, it don't laugh! By the way, my dd is called Betsy. Florence I love and was always one of my favourites but my niece is called it now :(

Benedict (which can be shortened to Ned!)
Clarence
Sawyer
Barnaby
Baxter
Autumn
Honey
Clara
Alexandra/Alexander
Herbert/Hubert
Reuben
Ruby
Rupert

My list of names changes on a daily basis. Share some of your girl names please! Xx

Ah betsy is so cute, I have a friend with a betsy and an Effie! My daughter is called Belle Lilac. I also love autumn, but oh is Scottish and pronounces it weirdly. Also like Rupert (shorted to roo) and honey I love but not so sure for a first name in case she works in a male dominated environment and doesn't like it! Totally want it for a middle name though!

Girls list I hace Florence, flora, summer, willow, Elsie and Mabel.
Boys way harder ~ Jude, teddy, Noah... Then I get stuck! X

See I love Elsie, but I know 2 people who have just had babies called that so I'm now put off. I LOVE Willow, so I'm stealing it :) I used to have a cat called Mabel, she was ace! Your daughter's name is beautiful! I might steal Lilac too... xx

Haha we totally have similar tastes ~ let's keep sharing!! Lilac is really to go with her full name which is Isabelle. I didn't massively want 'isabelle' but belle really doesn't go with our surname so it was a compromise.... I felt lilac livened it up a bit!

Oh yeah, also quite like primrose. What is betsys Middle name?? X

Ah yes, I love Tabitha too! And Edith which I left off the list. Betsy is actually an Elizabeth, because my husband said no to Betsy, so we called her Elizabeth so I could shorten it to Betsy and now she's Betsy to everyone. I'm not sure even she understands that Elizabeth is her full name! Her middle name is Melanie, after my mum. You have ace taste in names, definitely keep sharing as you get more ideas! Xx p.s. you won't believe this but Primrose was my very first suggestion when I was pregnant last time, but hubby said no :(

Haha that's so funny!! We must be name twins!! Hubby has suggested Edith ~ I am hoping it may grow on me! He has very different ideas to me and laughs at lots of my suggestions! Last time my original idea was Eva primrose, but now like just primrose, maybe shorted to Rosie. Will update as more come to me ~ hope you do to!! Xx

Haha! We like floral and old people names! Have you considered Blossom? When I suggested Primrose my husband said sarcastically, "why don't we just call the baby Pansy" and then freaked out because I thought about it :) xx

Omg this is so funny!!! I LOVE blossom!!!! My oh hates it, and it really doesn't go with our 'b' surname but I think it's the most beautiful name... Quite like ivy blossom. Pansy not so sure but I do like posey which is pretty similar xxx

Hubby has said he still loves fletch for a boy... He liked it last time too. I don't hate it but am not convinced ~ what do you think? X
