I think Ellie is ready for solids, if she were 3 or 4 weeks older I wouldn't doubt it.

  • 1. The last week or so she has been needing feeds more often during the day - typical every 2.5hrs.
    2. She watches avidly while we eat.
    3. Yesterday and the day before I gave her a grain of rice sized piece of banana which she ate (no gag reflex).
    4. Last night she woke demanding a 3:30am feed (4hrs after her dreamfeed) having slept through without this feed for the last 7 weeks, yet she had had good feeds all day.
    5. We are only getting 1 dirty nappy every 48hrs.
    6. She has been getting teething pains

What do other people think? Can you think of any other reason for this? Thanks

I think you are right. Im weaning wee joe as he was starting to display the symptoms you are talking about and of course, he slept right through after. It was good because he hadnt slept through in the first place.
Im giving heinz banana breakfast and oaty porridge. The consistency is good for heping it stay in the mouth because for all he is ready for food if its too runny it just slips out even though he is trying to get it to the back of his mouth.

Good luck
