I think I'm in very *very* slow early labour

So the nesting instinct kicked in about 4-5 days ago, suddenly have the urge to clean and organise (though my body can't tolerate how much I want to do so there's a lot of resting!)

I've been having period-like cramps in my lower tummy and back for just under a week.

I've been needing to nap in the afternoons for about two hours!

Braxton Hicks contractions are becoming more frequent.

I've also had an upset tummy.

I spoke to the ward to make sure it wasn't anything to worry about and they seem to think it's my body getting ready! Exciting.

My question is this:
Are there any other tell-tale signs I should look out for? Other than the obvious mucous plug, waters breaking etc. I also wondered how long I can expect this sort of thing to go on for before I should feel concerned that nothing is starting up?

Delivering before my due date would be great but as long as I don't go through a chemical induction again I'm happy.

This is my second baby but the first time I was induced and it all kind of hit me really hard out of nowhere so I've not done this symptom spotting & waiting part before.

Thanks in advance :)

My water broke so can't help you with that, but I was told by the midwife that if the contractions are regularly spaced and the same kind of intensity, it might be the real deal.
I refused being induced by the way, if they want to induce you for no apparent reason, ask why. I was supposed to be induced at 7 am while I had very strong regular contractions. I had my daughter at 11:40 without their meddling so I don't understand why they always want to induce everyone?!
Good luck hun, hope you can hold your little bundle of joy soon!x

Hi sparky, sorry I can't offer you any advice. Just wanted to wish you all the best. Can't believe the march babies are nearly here! Good luck x

Hope he comes soon! I can’t help with symptoms either. I had all those things you mentioned in the first post for two weeks and still was nowhere near natural labour when I had to be induced. I think they’re just joys of the end of pregnancy :-?

Awww, hang in there! Luckily it's not too hot outside!
Love what your ticker says now!
