Hello again

I posted this in the "Symptomes" secton but I think it fits better in here

I'd like to keep you updated and so ... I did my third pregnancy test and it's the same result: pregnant Can't believe it worked so quickly.
My boyfriend and me are really happy. But I'm such a worrying person, I always have been, and so I couldn't fall asleep yesterday night at all. My futur mother in law told me a few things about what not to eat ... and she told me I shouldn't eat smoked fish and I did that last week. I didn't know I'm not allowed. The pain in my breats got better now. Not as intense as it was. Do you think it was a bad thing eating that fish? I won't do it again as long as I'm pregnant. I just didn't know

When did you all book your first appointment at the doctors? Oh, and I really had bad headache yesterday ... what would you suggest to take Paracetamol or Aspirin? Because it said we should talk to the doctor first before taking it

Just one more thing, I nearly forgot about it ... do you think it has any bad effect on the baby to spend too much time on the laptop? I always have it on my legs when I'm working with it.

Have a great and sunny day and sorry for all the questions. I just wanna do everything right and it's my first pregnancy

welcome to first tri and congrats :cheer:

its normal to worry, i think we all do it so your not alone! Not sure about the smoked fish, its not one ive heard about, there are certain types of fish to avoid and limit your consumption of. like avoid shellfish and limit tuna to a couple of times a week or something.

i booked my doc appointment for a week after i found out i was pg, she then referred me to the mw for my booking in appt which i have just had this morning at 12 weeks. it varies in different areas as to when you will be seen and how things will be done.

ive been told its ok to take paracetomal but nothing else, and not to go over the limit. as for laptop id avoid having it on your lap for long periods of time, im not sure if there are any problems with this but cant be good for you anyway, maybe set it up on a small table or something, thats just my opinion though

Hiya Em's right........paracetamol only is what my mw says.....don't go over the limit.

I use my laptop all the time and rest it on the arm of the sofa or I sit at the dining table with it as I too was worried, more because it heats my legs up so that makes me think it not great for the baby, you could get a little table from IKEA that may work for you?

With fish it is certain type of fish....however - we all eat stuff we shouldn't so really don't beat yourself up about it......I'll find a link for you and repost in a bit about foods to avoid..

Oh, and last but not least.........CONGRATULATIONS on your bfp!!

Hi,

The other ladies have answered your questions so i'd just like to say congrats on your numerous BFP's :D

Hi and welcome!

Avoid paracetomal, my m/w said it thins the blood.

Enjoy your pg

hiya,
just wanted to say congrats on your pregnancy!!! :cheer:

Just wanted to add that I was told if I have a headache then it's ok to just take one paracetmol tablet instead of the 2 it recommends on the pack. This has always worked for me just the same as 1 tablet.

Congrats on your BFP.

Awww thank you all for your respond. I know I will have a lot of questions and I'm happy there is someone out there you can turn to.

By the way ... is it normal to keep on having back and belly ache for two weaks? Feels a bit like period pain. I just wonder why I keep on having it. Someone said that you just have it once a moth or so normally

And next week I will book my first appointment at the doctors ... it's all so exciting but also worrying ... but you all know what I mean, don't you

Hello again!

Re. medicines during pregnancy, here's a great link http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/health_advic ... gnancy.htm

Basically it says for pain relief, paracetamol is the only one generally regarded as safe through all 3 trimesters which is what I was told by my MW. Never heard of it thinning your blood though - I thought that was aspirin. Check with your pharmacist if you want a professional opinion!

Re. Laptops - I think it's like microwave ovens - safe in moderation but insufficient testing done to find out consequences of excessive use. I would use it on a desk for the above reason, and also because it's not good for your posture and though you probably don't feel it now, when heavily pregnant it may put unnecessary strain on your back. Things are uncomfortable enough!

Speak soon!!
