. . has anyone thought about the size of their babies?

I had my scan on Saturday and she said the baby is a couple of days out of my EDD. My cycle is VERY regular so I'm not convinced I just think that this is one big assed baby!

All of the babies born on hubby's side have always been over 10lb and recently one on my side has been born 13lb!!!

It still doesnt seem real to me that I am actually going to have a baby at all

well this is an important thing for me this time as you can se from sig christopher was 10lbs 14.5oz  nobody knew until half way thr labour  and even then they had no idea he was that big. as i had low platlets/iron i had to do it all natural on gas and air NO diamorphine or epidural / section what so ever (section only in an emergency) so after 35 hours he was born . poor midwife put him on scales then went to get another pair just in case. he broke the record for heaviest baby in that hospital that year :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

so this time i have consultant lead care and weekly scans after 20weeks..if baby gets big i will have baba early :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

This topic is too scary for me to think about! I'm in denial about the fact that i actually have to give birth

my DS was 4lb 4oz so tiny. my placenta gave up towards the end so hoping this time i will not be starving my baby :shakehead:

Oh you poor thing! You don't think of things like that! Glad all turned out well

Yes me too - i agree - not even thought about it nor do i want to - infact the midwife give me a new pregnancy book last week, and me and OH were reading through it in bed the other nite, well until we came to a picture of a lady giving birth - OMG i closed the book immediately and went to sleep - i think personally i will just take on the labour without reading too much into it cause i will F.R.E.A.K out bigtime :?

The fact is 10lb or 5lb, they all hurt!! Sorry to break it to you ladies

Lots of midwives will tell you big ones are easier to birth, they 'come down' better.

In answer to the OP, I'm not really thinking about it. My son was a very average 7lb 2oz, so anything in that ball park is fine by me :)

I dont know if its any different if you plan to have a baby or not.. But i am crapping myself.. im so scared.. lol.. Esp as it wasnt planned i had no time to prepare myself.. or even agree to pushing something out my.. well.. yeah.. im kind of hoping that its a bareable pain.. LOL..

Hun, even if a baby's unplanned you have MONTHS to think about it

I'm not sure you can ever be prepared, but billions have done it and you will be fine

Maddison was 4lbs 15oz so very diddy but it bloody hurt so anything over that weight will worry me now

So we have established that it might smart a little (ahem) :rotfl:

But is anyone too posh to push?

Not me! I'm going for it - stiches and all!

It only took me 2 pushes to get Maddison out as she was little so would be quite happy for it to go that way again but I think this baby will be bigger so probably wont be the same

Ha Ha you've been lulled into a false sense of security - expect a 12 pounder! :rotfl:

My DS was 6lb 12oz and was a lovely weight...not too big and not too small!

They do say subsequent babes tend to get bigger...not too big I hope

Im still convinced a new method will have been invented in 8 months time...preferabley involving pressing a button and bubs magically appearing in your arms
