I just faced a little fear of mine (Or big fear)

Today I breastfed in public for the first time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was in a pub. Me and my OH stopped for lunch. We were far away from home and the little one was getting a bit aggy with the bottle... so I just thought, I have to do it sooner or later.

So I sat facing away from the majority of people, put a muslin over one side of me. It was difficult to get him attached properly because I need both hands. OH helped by holding the cloth while I attached him.

Feel proud that I finally did it. I guess my main fear was people looking or saying something like "You can't do that here!!!" Because I have heard stories like that

Well done hun! It will get easier the more confident you get with BFing.
I was petrified at first, but later on i didnt even need a feeding cover as you cant see much anyway

Well done you!! I promise you the more times you do it, and as baby gets older you will find it so much easier.

If you wanted to look into a cover I have this one. Although we don't use it too much anymore (as H is weaning) I always have it with me as never know where you might end needing to feed!!)

I have breast fed at other people's houses, in the car at service stations, and at the children's centre, but not actually out in 'public'. Going to have to do it on Monday though as going to London for the day to go to my great uncle's funeral... just hoping Alex doesn't decide he's hungry during the service

I don't have the BFing in public problem, but I do take my pump out with me and use BF'ing rooms as somewhere to express.

I often get worried that other mums will think I shouldn't be there, as sometimes I go in without a baby

Awww. Well done, hun. I think it's great seeing BFing mums in public. I fed LO in the middle of a crowded Indian wedding at 6 weeks and it was fine - nobody seemed to notice xxx
