I haven't got a bloomin' clue!

Now the end is nigh I'm really panicking about the fact I know NOTHING about babies.
I had to phone my mum and ask her what blankets to use with the moses basket, for goodness sake!

I'm worried because I bought a cot-sized cellular blanket which I have to fold about four times for it to fit in the moses basket and I'm worried it might be too hot.
It got me thinking...I don't know if newborns are meant to be bathed straight away, I don't know how you're supposed to hold them... I don't know anything! oh god!

We're going to a 'Labour & Birth Workshop' on saturday which is from 9.30am - 4.00pm which I know will cover a lot of things. But I'm still worried I'll be useless when baby Poppy arrives.

HELP!

OMG I'm completely the same, I have no idea what to do? How to know when to feed, bath or put them to bed? I'm completely relying on antenatal classes and mothers instinct to show me the way, but there is so much I don't know!!! I've been thinking pregnancy is hard now I'm hoping it doesn't end as its so easy baby is fed warm and happy and goes with me wherever I go!!!! Lol!!!

Ohhhhh you are def not on your own!! My sister has 3 girls which I have helped with but I have no idea! Sounds silly but ive never changed a boys nappy before and only bathed a baby from a few months old. Tiny babies scare me as i'm scared i'll not hold them right etc I really dont know how i'm (ME!!!!!) going to be a mummy!!! :s

Trust me, you wont be useless hun!... Alot of things will just come naturally (i know everyone says this, but it really does) and MW will help you with any thing you need while your in hospital! and you have your mumand family who will be willing to help you if you want help, its all a learning process and you will feel very proud of yourself knowing that you brought up your LO.. No-one knows everything when it comes to babies, its what works best for you, im still learning now and Brookes 4..

Its normal to feel like that hun. I still phone my mam now and ask her stuff if i am not sure, the hospital will tell you a few things too. Don't worry you will be fine. xxx

I still double check everything with my mum !!
I diodnt bath Maisie until she was almost 2 weeks old !
You can ask the Mw to show you how to do a nappy change but really it all does come naturally xx

Oh Dont worry..... After Joshua was born I went home and still clearly remember the very first day I was left in the house on my own with this baby. I was terrified id do something silly or wrong and hey, all was great!! I was so not maternal - every time I held a baby they would cry and I would just shove back to their mum lol. Its funny how you just "know" what to do. Omg you now have me really, really excited, I want mine now!!!!

It makes me quite emotional looking at the pic of my bump! So scary to think in what?.... 12 weeks we will both have our little boys with us! LOL we will def have to correspond about nappies, feeds, bathing etc. Like the other mummys have said im sure it will come to us but not going to lie.....its scaring the S*** out of me!!

Yeh we frightened ourselves at the weekend because I said just think only 11 more Sunday lie ins left before it all goes mad!!! I will be on at you every 5 mins with is this normal, does yours do that etc etc!!!
