Ive had a letter from the hospital saying my haemogloben levels are 10.9 - I have to go to the Drs for treatment... Im preying this is just going to be tablets lol.

Do you think this will go after pregnancy?? xx

Thats the same figure as mine was when I had my 28 week bloods done, they put me on iron tablets until the end of the pregnancy, whether or not they will then check my blood again is something Im not sure of. When I spoke to the midwife about them they looked at the original HB figure from the 1st load of bloods to see if it was a significant drop and mine were originally 13. 10.9 isnt too bad, on my reports they print the range (presume of normal amounts) and HB is 11.8-15

I'm on iron tabs too...... think its quite common towards the end of pregnancy.

I just had another lot of bloods taken at my 36weeks appointment, which I wasnt expecting, so I guess they are just checking up again.

Midwife at antenatal classes said if you are on iron tabs its likely you'll need them for a wee bit after the baby is born too.

that is low but its not dangerously low so it should pick up with tablets, even tho they are nasty lol it wil also go back to normal once u deliver. mine dropped to 4 in my last pregnancy and i had to have a transfusion it wasnt nice!
its low in this one aswell it was 8.5 a few weeks ago and i had to go on a 10 day course of iorn injections in my backside which was horrid, i still have 2 massive black bum cheeks lol i still feel really weak and tired so i dont think its gone up much but i will soon see on monday.

Mine was 10.5 I think so they put me on 28 days of tablets and will then test me again- they made me feel SO much better although (sorry about TMI) my poo is green and I have to make sure I eat lot of fibre! Oh the joys! Yes it should get better after we've had them although some people carry some kind of iron pill or vit pill afterwards as the whole pregnancy thing really takes it out of your body.

Oh my god that sounds terrifying!!

I just had to have steroid injections as I had a show and they thought she may come early and they hurt like hell.... So im not up for iron injections too... the steroids went in my bum cheaks and it HURT lol xxx

Hi hi on iron tabs also have been now for a few months and got another box yesterday my levels range from 6.1 to 6.8 but the midwife says the baby is getting enough and leaving me short so i dont mind as long as the baby is getting enough to keep it going.
