I found a great way to cool myself down!

Last week I ordered some gel pads for the doggies online. These are like thin pads, gel filled that stays cool for X amount of time....I ordered two medium ones for their beds and a large one for the rottie and they arrived last friday. After playing with them all weekend and being suprised at how quickly they re-cool etc an idea formed....

So I hopped online sunday evening and ordered the XL sized one and it arrived today.....

I ripped it open and placed it under my sheet on the bed....

OH MY GOD, relief at last! It was sooooo lovely!!

OH came home at lunchtime and thinks I've finally lost the lot, but I really couldn't care! I've spent the afternoon naked on the bed I just wish I could lay on my front occasionally

I'll post the link up when I'm on my tower later rather than OH's laptop, they're just pads, quite thin, with a thin layer of gel in them, they fold up small and are popped in the fridge for a little while then they stay cool.

They're marketed for doggies but don't look doggish in the slightest, and to be honest I've been so hot these past few days they could have been covered with pawprint motifs and be beef scented and I wouldn't care

seriously though does sound a good idea for bed time, im sick of being the only person thats too hot all the time

i want a fan for my bedside, but i bet if i ordered one the darn meather would change

im not sure i'd like them if they were beef sented tho

Seriously R, you should get one! It's just like a big square of plastic backed fabric, no thicker than a blanket, reusable and sooooooo cool! I'm boiling but can't use a fan, I just can't stand being 'blown' on...I can't even have the window open more than a crack in the car, which thankfully has air con so I may go out later!

I'd do what hubby did and wander round in the garden at 1am in nothing but pants (the joys of a detached house in the middle of nowhere) but you can guarantee the one car that comes down our lane per week would cruise past, just as the security lights came on no doubt

We bought the dogs a paddling pool too, got it out for the first time yesterday and I was sat in it shoving them away

Ous fridge freezer packed up a few weeks back and I've been on at OH that we need a new one ASAP....I WANT ICE!!!

I've been keeping cool by having lemonade float drinks (lemonade and ice cream) which are very tasty and cooling Strange as I normally don't like ice cream!
