Hi ladies!
Haven't been on here much since having my dd. Getting a bit broody for no.2 but we are waiting until next christmas to try again as want to try and get a bit of savings behind us, and also want some more time just the three of us before adding another into the equation.

I have been putting on weight since May 2012 when we got married. All in all, by November last year I had gained 3 stone and 11 pound - a huge amount. Part of this is down to doing a stupid no carb diet prior to the wedding to shed two stone which meant as soon as I started eating normally again I ballooned. It's also partly due to my frustration and feelings of inadequacy when we were trying but not conceiving, and I also turned to food after my miscarriage.

Basically, after Christmas I decided enough was enough and I needed to change my relationship with food. I have a tendency to eat when I am sad and also eat as a hobby - eg as something to do when I am bored. My portion sizes have been creeping up too. However, shake diets and no carb diets don't work for me long term - I lose weight but then put it all back on and more.

Decided what I need is a lifestyle change and something I can do long term. I still want to be able to eat chocolate if I fancy it. Bought a book online which came with a cd to help lose weight with a hypnotic gastric band (not sure if I can say who wrote it as don't want to go against any non advertising rules!!!).

I am currently half way through my second week and have so far lost 9 lb although a lot of that will be water retention etc so I expect the rate of loss to drop down now.

Wondered if anyone on here fancied being weight loss buddies? I am determined to lose the weight and keep it off so that when I start trying for baby no.2 I am in a good place.

Would be great if any of you fancied doing the same diet, or even if you're doing something different we could still cheer each other on?

Xxx

I'm always up for weight loss buddies! I'm not following any particular diet, I'm just moving more. I started going to gym 3x a week in January and have already lost 1.8% of my body fat. Hoping to lose another 3% in February. :)

Hi! Oops sorry I haven't checked back on here all week.

Sounds like you're doing amazingly well!! Congrats :) well done on gyming it. I'm trying to do at least 20 mins of YouTube exercise videos after I put Millie to bed each night. Have managed to do it most nights so far.

Only lost 1 pound this week but af has also arrived so thinking that might be why. Still, even a pound is a loss!

Just seen your signature.... no idea how you manage to do anything with that many kids!!! I am in awe. Xxx

hey Naomi,

I have been trying to lose weight myself since christmas. got about 3 and a half stone to shift. would love to know the name of your book if you cold perhaps pm it to me? my colleague did a hypnosis thing and then went on to lose 11 stone over a year!! amazing transformation. i would love to have a weight loss buddy. i do go to a group but never stay at the meetings mainly because my job means i know a lot of people in the local community and wouldn't want them to see me there :|

I joined slimming world a few weeks ago, and lost 6lb in my first week, and 4lb in my second. I'd love another 4 this week, just to have got that 1st stone off in 3 weeks! But if I don't, I'll get it the week after! I'm going to try and keep it up throughout my pregnancy too - I'd love to weigh less at full term than at the beginning! But if I did gain, at least I have been healthier and ate better than I normally would! I don't think it matters what plan you follow, you can never have too much support when it comes to weight loss! Good luck everyone x
