Anyone tried or thinking of trying hypno-birthing? I've been reading up on it and think I'm going to give it a go because I really like the idea of being in control and being able to feel everything. Let me know if anyone has any experience or is thinking about doing it x

Hi weenik,

Redshoes, who is currently in the 3rd trimester is planning a hypnobirth at home - you should definitely get in touch with her about it.

Good luck - I'm not planning it this time - too much else to think about with planning the nursery, finishing up work and doing NHS and NCT antenatal classes - so many things to think about and learn - but maybe for the next baby!

Love

Valentine xxx

Hi Weenik!

Im really interested in hypnobirthing as well, but havent really been able to get mmuch info on it. Let me know if you get any good information!

Thanks, flower x

Thanks Valentine, I'll get in touch so I can see how she gets on. Flower, I've just downloaded an MP3 file frm http://www.instant-hypnosis.com/hypnosis/pain_free_childbirth_hypnosis.aspx?pu=false I'll let you know how I get on with it. I don't think I can afford to go to the classes because they're quite far away & cost quite a bit but I'm going to try to do it myself. I'll see how I get on with this, then if I have to there's also a book & CD on Amazon x

I looked into it but it turned out to be to expensive for me :(

Thanks for that! i will try an down load the same. A friend of mine recommended a book called The Gentle Birthing Method, and CD also available. I had a look at it but didnt really like this one. I think there must be other methods that are better. Ive been looking on amazon also but couldnt really find anything. What is the one youve been looking at called?

Be sure to let us know how you get on with the download weenik and if its any good, would be intrested to here also :D

I listened to the CD last night in bed and it really did make me relax, and afterwards I felt like childbirth was a really natural process and not something to be scared of. I still feel like this today and I've only listened to it once. It helps you concentrate on your breathing and at one point I imagined I was breathing through the contractions. You're supposed to listen to it 2-3 times a week so I'm going to keep doing it and see how it goes.

I suppose I'll not really know how well it works until I actually go into labour, but if it helps me to control and breathe through the contractions even a little bit then it will be worth it. There was another bookd & CD I was going to buy from Amazon - here's the link for it http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-li...19156?ie=UTF8&s=gateway&qid=1176886561&sr=8-1

I was going to suggest you contacted Redshoes about it too.
I love the idea of it but to be honest not totally sure it's for me. Looked into local classes etc but given everything else we have bought, paid for, booked up for etc it was just another expense we really didn't want/need. I might look into it for pudding #2 as I'm sure I wont have time or want to do as much stuff as i'm doing in preperation for this little Pudding!
