Husbands and video games

Anyone else`s husband spend half the night playing games? Does it annoy you? I have to admit to enjoying some games when we all play together but he`s up until 3am some nights!

To be honest, I wouldn't find that acceptable. One of my ex's was a gamer and I refused to compete (hence why he is an ex).

We have lots of games consoles; some more modern, some retro but we don't play on them obsessively (or even regularly). We get the Beatles Rockband out if we have company, and all take it in turns playing Bass and Guitar which is quite fun.

I can't stand games that immerse one person in them; it's anti-social. The games we have are multiplayer games.

If my OH stayed up until 3am playing games we'd be having serious words about whether it was a healthy thing to do!

my OH is and addict!!! he openly admits its a problem for and that he gets withdrawals when he doesn't get his "fix" ok that sounds really bad doesn't it! but yer he used to play it every night when he got home from work, only breaking for dinner, and on his days off he'd spend literally all day playing on his xbox! though he's not spent nearly as much time on it as he used to since little man arrived, i know its been hard for him to cut down! but i do appreciate it! i also enjoy a good game, and it does annoy me sometimes when OH gets transfixed by a game but no i just tell him to turn it off!!! lol he gives me a look like hell would freeze over but does it!!!

we have guitar hero same principle!!! it great fun with loads of us or over xbox live!!! and 90% of our games are multilayer, and we have a great social group that we play with (or should i say he plays with . . . now anyway!)

lol my OH is up til 3am most nights, currently he plays world of warcraft on the pc. if it wasnt that it would probably be something on the ps3. thing is i cant complain as the ps3 is mine, most of the games are mine. the pc is mine as is the world of warcraft account, i actually got him hooked on it. ive gone off it a bit since getting preg but he loves it and plays all the time. i really dont mind, i play if i want to or read and we sit together and chat. i go to bead earlier than i used to cos im tired earlier now and he hasnt changed his routine at all. he works evenings so its his chill out time after work which i totally understand as i used to do the same when i worked those shifts.
tbh ive never felt neglected cos an OH plays games, i either join in or occupy myself, tho ive never been completely ignored because of it, we still chat and cuddle up etc.

My OH doesn't play games but he's a computer engineer & quite often wastes his nites away doing stuff on his computer, or fixing someone elses. He has been known to play games in the past & its just as well he hasn't for a while coz when he has he's spent 12 hrs at a time doing them. Stoopid things.

My ex used to play online games til stupid o'clock.

OH plays on his PS3 most evenings but still usually goes to bed before me as he will want to be up for the gym in the morning.

So, having had it a lot worse in the past, this is quite an improvement!

I have to admit - im usually the anti social one playing games till stupid times - mostly on fb. my wii (the only console in the house) is largely ignored.

But i dont think it means i ignore DH, he goes to sleep a lot earlier than me - he's to be up early and i cant sleep at 9.30 or id be up at 3am. If im sitting on the laptop it means he has control of the tv which he likes - cos i hate most of wht he chooses to watch - usualy history stuff.

But we still chat/spend time together as well. Guess its about finding a balance ur both happy with.
