Hey ladies

Just wondered when I'm likely to stop bleeding and be able to go swimming? I love going and its the only exercise I did throughout my pregnancy. My bleeding is currently about the same level as a period and has been for the last couple of days. Obviously I realise I can't really go swimming until I stop bleeding so I just wondered how long that is likely to be?

Thanks in advance xx

Think bleeding is different for everyone but mine had fully stopped by 3 weeks. However, the advice I was given was not to do swimming or any aerobic exercise until after 6 week check but I did have a section. Make sure you ask the mw before you go cos you don't want to go too early and hurt yourself.

Thanks Hun - hv said I could go as soon as I stopped bleeding x

I was wondering this as I'd love to swim again and take Abigail. I think I'll wait for her injections first but I'm desperate for a dip in the pool!

My hv said you don't have to wait for their injections now because they no longer have a live polio jab. However she said to check the rules at my pool and they don't let babies go until they've had their jabs. I'm still waiting to stop bleeding - think it might be coming to an end so fingers crossed I might get to go this week xx

i went when my sofia was 4 weeks old as my bleeding had stopped :) x

bleeding can last upto 9 weeks sometime longer in some women lasted a while with me

i think me and Madison went around 5 weeks, obv bleeding had stopped then :) i didnt wait for any injections as HV said i didnt need to... also my sil 'dropped' her boy underwater and he swam very young :) i wudnt be brave enough but was AMAZING to see!! Madison loved the pool from day one and dont be afraid of bubs getting cold, colder it is less chance of infection, just get head and shoulders wet as soon as u get in so their body can regulate quickly instead of legs freezing in water and top half out :) thats the best tip i was ever given :) xx
