Hi,

I am breastfeeding my daughter at the moment (she is 3 weeks old and weighs 8lbs 4 oz) and I would like to give her a bottle of expressed breastmilk some evenings so that we can have the odd night out. However as I am feeding her myself the rest of the time I have no idea of how much she will need in a bottle when we leave her with the grandparents. Does anyone know how many ounces I should be feeding her or any useful websites that I could try? :cheer:

I really appreciate any help as I am longing to get out for a few hours

Ella used to take around 4-5oz of expressed at that age :)

I would suggest putting about 3-4 ounces in a couple of bottles, so she could be fed on demand. At that age their tummies are very small, so they will feed frequently. Hope this helps x

Same as above around 3 - 4 ounces -
Has she had a bottle before? As i found my son very resistent to bottles at that age.

Thanks for all your advice! :)

Yes she taken a bottle the last few evenings and seems to be fine with it :D :D :D
