how many weeks were u when midwife contacted u?

Hi All

Went to the docs on Monday to confirm pregnancy and he said midwife would be in touch with me but I havent heard anything yet - when do u think this will be? I'm so unpatient as I want to know when our scan date will be soo excited

I was given the number to contact her direct. I called her around 6 and half weeks, and saw her when I was exactly 8 weeks. You won't see her until between 8 and 10 weeks, and your first scan is usually around 12 weeks (although in my area they do it anytime between 10 and 17 weeks). She may call you sooner to introduce herself, or she may call you around the 7/8 week mark to arrange an appointment. It feels like so much waiting around in the first few weeks, doesn't it?? I've got my first scan next week, and the days are just dragging!!

Thanks Chopsie, receptionist said midwife would ring me more than likely on the wednesday (just gone) but she didnt and i'M BEGINNING TO THINK THAT RECEPTIONIST DIDNT PASS ON MY DETAILS AS SHE ONLY WROTE THEM ON A POST IT NOTE! dO U THINK i SHOUL RING MIDWIFE DIRECT TO Ccheck my details have been passed on? As if Im due to see her in weeks 8-10 surely shed contact me before then to arrange a suitable time what with work and everything?

I went to Dr's at 5 weeks and was told the same. The midwife didn't contact me until last week (8+6) to organise for yesturday (9+5).

I rang the dr's in between and was told that the MW's are busy and that they will contact me - which eventually they did. It's hard but I'd sit and wait it out.

All surgerys are different but I have noticed (aswell as my old surgery) they tend to contact you around 8weeks +

My new surgery has a different approach and seen me straight away (near enough)

Hopefully it wont be too long hun

i haven't anything yet either which im a bit disappointed about cos im unsure of my dates also.
