i was reading about labour and birth here
http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/l ... hildbirth/
and it mentions that second and subsequent babies can take only 5-10 minutes to pop out once ur in 2nd stage, but first babies can take several hours! this will be my first and i'd like to kno a sorta average how long first babies take to come out. thanku!

my 2nd stage wasnt long really compared to most peoples 1st baby, i was pushing for a little over 45mins iirc, and 2nd time round i started pushing and the 1st push his head came out, 2nd his body, which even the midwife wasnt ready for

i clicked over an hour by accident but it didnt it was 5-15

I was pushing for 30 mins which was good seeing as I had an epidural.

Hiya

with Willow i pushed for about an hour and an half with Conal 2 pushes one for crowning next one out

i think with your first you are scarred of the pain of crowning and it stops you with the second you know it will be over as soon as it's out so you go for it

i was in the hospital for 9 mins and after 2 pushes he was out (3rd baby)
with my girls it was about 30 mins!!!

With 2 pushes James was here !!
It was 10 - 15 mins xx

Hi

My second stage was 2 hours 40 minutes  as I found out from the consoltant the other day!!

My 2nd stage was about 20min. And that included 10min of just thinking I need a no 2!! :rotfl:

nathan took about 1 hour 15 mins to push out. i hated pushing and he was big and his shoulders were a bit sticky which is why it took so long.

Dior took 5 pushes
Harley 2 pushes

i couldnt imagine pushing for hours

Though I've only had one, I totally agree with this - the fear of the pain put me off for ages, until I eventually psyched myself up for it. So it was around 90 minutes for me but I bet I could have done it in 45-50 if I'd just got my head around it sooner.

I was pushing from 8am and finally had Charlotte-Grace at 11.55am :?

With Mason I pushed for about 1 1/2 hours, Brody was out in 2 pushes, but I tore. :?

Because I'd been labouring so long the doctor informed me I had one hour (he actually looked at his watch - to55er) before he wheeled me down to theatre.

We went just over the hour when they finally gave me an episiotomy and pulled a distressed Stanley out by ventouse.
