How long do things keep sterile for??

A bit of a novice question but....


If I sterilise bottles, dummies and breast pumps but don't use them immediately how long do they remain sterile for in the open air.

Bottles 24 hours with the lids on, dummies the same as long as they are covered.
 
as long as the milk residue has been thoroughly cleaned from any item, then it really doesn't matter if the item is sterile or not :D

you can wash items, rather than sterilise them, as long as the water is 80 degrees + and as long as you're not leaving them sitting around in EBM or formula, you don't need to re-clean them before use.
