Hi girls ,

So I have mild period pains and lots of frequent braxton hicks , but they have a slightly more uncomfatable edge on them, could feel them when in a warm bath too still, so wondering whats occuring!

Thought I would try timing them to see , thought I would sit still, (at rest) and then time.

How do you time them accurately from start to end and then the break between, if when you move your body at all you get one just cause you move, causing messy results!

What is a expected time for very early labour, is 10 or 20 mins apart too far apart to start with, as it seems to fluctuate between these two, but again hard to tell, if the extra 10 mns ones are cause I moved!

Thanks ladies,

I always timed from wen I felt it startin to wen it eased off completely then timed the space in between but I've got contraction timer apps on my phone and the way they time varies...sorry I can't b much help,i couldn't manage to time mine last few days.
Length wise I think if they're becomin stronger, lasting longer and coming regularly then they're the real thing xx

I don't know JJ, I never had to time mine before. Maybe you should call the midwife?

JJ get on the phone to your midwife, you have had a lot going on the past couple of days that indicates early labour.

As you are going for a C-Section they need to know so that, if you are indeed in labour, they can book your section in earlier.

As i said, this is excatly what happened to my mum, and she had to be left in hospital overnight, without my dad, until the section in the morning- they wont consider you an emergency one, so they will try and fit you in to a scheduled one.

Think my mum ended up going in at midnight as she had her section at 6am. Brother was a week ahead of his c-section date...and 2-3 weeks earlier than his due date

Thanks girls, I thought I would catch an early night and see how I went first, I don't have a midwife really, only seen 3 midwifes , once each over the pregnancy, as under hosp, but have taken a number for the ward just incase I need to call. Hubby s at work on nights wikth the car, and three kids in bed, it just wouldn't work me making a fuss now, so I will see what happens, It could be reall,y slow stuff going on.

I had a right go at hubby earlier, (went a bit scitso to be honest )- about being waited on and him not asking how I felt and carrying all the shopping back from town. told him I felt funny when I got back and then got in the bathto relax, it was only 4pm! He then never picked up on it, thought he might at least make me a cuppa when he came up, only to find him having a nap on the bed instead! so I went berserk!), then apologised to a point, for the being rude bit, but that I had valid points tho! and then burst into tears! He then asked was I crying about the lady nextdoor having her baby yesterday and not me!!! MEN!

I think it's all a bit daunting that's all, and me a 4th time mum! silly mare..... How do you ladies do it, all this uncertainty and highs and lows, full respect , I'm learning alot this week!

I know!! I dunno, it's getting a bit close! Not sure if it will happen this week or not! X

Jen! Phone the flippin' midwife!
It's understandable saying you can't make a fuss because you've got three kids in bed - but if you go into actual labour in the same circumstances, what will you do?
Pleeeeaaase give them a ring, even if it's only for a chat and a bit of advice?
:hugs: xx
