Hi all I was just wondering how we know it is the babies hb we here on Doppler? I've heard there is a pulse too but I don't know where that is so I may just be listening to that Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :wall2: xx

It's a lot faster like a train. It's always good to familiarise yourself with your own heartbeat first as it'll help you differentiate.

Midwife told me that one of the beats is the blood rushing through the umbilical cord but Im not much help at telling you im which is which :(

yeah im by no means sure that the hb i can hear in my tum is the babies one lol, as far as i can tell its not mine as mine is a bit slower and chunkier iykwim. also the blood rushing thru the placenta is supposed to be whoosy sounding but i think once the mw finds it and listens i will have a better idea lol

i always find three noises on my doppler.

a whoosing which is the blood flow through placenta.
a slower beat which is mine
and what reminds me of galloping horses which is the bambinos
