How do you know when in labour?

You'd think being 3rd baby I would know this!

I Don't know what to expect - am having LOTS of cramping after my sweep. I've never had BH's before & my contractions were not painful the last labour. So How would I know this time?

Think I need to go run a few laps

Kinda like BH & period pain at the same time.

I've heard you can get quite crampy after a sweep anyway.

How did the sweep go?? Did she say how you were progressing??

This is what I'm worried about too, this is my first. But as littlemiss says a sweep can give you cramping. How is one supposed to know whether it's just cramping or whether its actually contractions. Especially when some people's waters don't always break until its time to push.
Sorry I'm not much help at all, but I just wanted to add that I'm worried about the same thing and am stalking this thread for answers lol
