Labour / Baby Bag for hospital?! Esepcially you Debbie -I know you have everything covered in yours 8)

Im having trouble fitting things in :? I have a small trolley case on wheels & a large bag but somehow I dont think everything is going to fit. I havent packed a dressing gown as I know it will be hot and I dont plan on staying any longer than absolutely necessary. I was thinking maybe get a bigger case on wheels? Like this....

i have a trolly suitcase just for the babies things!!!

ive got a sports bag that i will be putting all my stuff in as then il also have room for extra stuff when i leave as last time i went in with 2 bags and came out with about 5!!!!!!!

Ive got 2 med trolley cases. One for me and one for baby

i am using a small size suitcase for ward and huggies changing bag (boots one) for delivery room

I have a large holdall for both me and baby. Its on wheels so its easy to manouvere. OH will have his own bag with his stuff in and snacks for us both.

I had my last antenatal class on Wed and the midwife said - PLEASE dont bring huge amounts of luggage cos you will have nowhere to put it all especially before you get moved to the ward.
She said the best thing was to have a bag for your labour things and bits you will need directly after the birth, then get your OH to bring in another bag with nappies and baby stuff etc when you are settled. I am only taking a holdall/hand luggage size bag and OH will just have to go and get anything else we need if I end up staying in ages.
I know some people takes masses of stuff though so perhaps all hosps are different on this!

I love the bag you've picked for baby Tilly :D He will love using it when he's older too.

I haven't started packing my bag yet so don't know if everything will fit in it yet. Just got a sports holdall thing.
I'm planning on going home within 6 hours of giving birth though so not planning on taking much :)

I need to get a bag!

Debbie, that Matalan one's well cheap!!! Might have to nick your idea for that as well as the list!!! xxx

make sure you pack lots of crisps and chocolate, :D after my first baby they gave me a salad

I didn't pack any food when I had James (not sure why), and they didnt feed me during labour. Looking back now no wonder I was so knackered, not eating for over 12 hours!

I will be packing loads of food this time :)

my MIL gavce me loads of mini cookies from M&S and jaffa cakes and stuff.............and i scoffed them all at about 4 in the morning cos i was bored on the ward and i couldnt sleep. They were lurrrvely. And i was starved :D

All I have packed are some Sesame Snaps LOL. I don't know what to pack!

i would take dressing gown, if they put a hossy gown on you for any reason and u have to walk about  you'll be wanting some thing to cover your back side :rotfl:

Im still stuck what case to get. My dilemma is (apart from being an indecisive moo) OH doesnt drive so its not like I can send him home to get more stuff if I need it and hospital is a 30-40min drive away from home. I dont own a suitcase or holdall so if I got the bigger one it would be ok for holidays etc? Or shall I go for the medium? Agggghhhhhhhh I HATE DECISIONS :wall:

also buy the bigger case as you will be bringing more home!!! when i had alana so many people brought her clothes, i had half a suitcase of new clothes to bring home :rotfl:

and yeah be good for holidays too.

I just have a small holdall and was wondering how i was going to fit everything in but thats what i thought everyone else had i didnt realise that most people take suitcases.

I might take two bags then one for me and one for baby. :D
