How are other BF mummys dealing with this heat?

I'm finding it quite hard Lewis is very grumpy. With my 1st boy who was formula fed I'd just give him some cooled boiled water then I could see what he was drinking. It's quite hard to get my head around the fact that he's not getting completely de-hydrated because I'm drinking so much myself!!

Also breastfeeding in this horrible hot weather is no fun at all, skin on skin is the last thing I want in this heat and I think L feels the same he keeps getting blotchy from the heat of being next to me.

Bring back my English rain!

Oz did have loads of little feeds from me last summer so he could have a drink. Like you said drinking alot yourself is the most important thing, that way you keep you and LO hydrated. I'm sure if you wanted to try him on a couple of tea spoons of cool boiled water it wouldn't do him any harm, instead of offering him boob for a drink?

We've been ok. A little grouchy. I feed him in the bedroom with the fan on tho.

very grumpy boy here who is refusing to nap, hes feeding more often too so must be thirsty.

We've got a fidgety baby here who is feeding quite a lot today and yesterday and very hot

Tried to keep him naked for as long as possible. Found it easiest to strip him down but then when it's time for a feed I've put a muslin round him so we don't stick together!!

G is being terrible, sometimes not going on. So ive given her water (had to put a wee squirt of oj in cos she won't drink it plain- but neither will I)

K has fed loads the last couple of days. I give him water now tho as well in a tippy cup. It is hot bf just now!

I'm struggling. It's too hot! Henry ends up with wet hair where his head rests on my arm. gonna take an extra muslin with me today as Henry has become quite attached to it and I have to fight with him to get it off him. Will try havin that over my arm when feeding.

Glad I wasn't the only one. Gave Lewis a bath in the kitchen sink to cool him off today and have just been offering booby at every winge and whine. He's slept a lot!!

i found Alyssa refused boob a few times and normally the greedy guts wouldnt refuse the boob. she took it after a drink of nice cool water tho so maybe offer some of that before a feed so they are cooled enough to take the warm milk from you

Harry's the opposite to Tyler. Can't get him off the boob it's driving me slightly potty

Henry hardly fed at all from 7:30-5:30 when I got home. Then he fed himself to sleep to wake at 7 and go down for 8!
