Housing problems

Guest
Well, I've handed in my tenancy end notice and got the confirmation through today BUT we haven't got anywhere sorted to move into yet and money looks like it's gonna be restricted so we might not have enough to move now. We also have bad credit and our agents wqho we rent from at the moment have nothing in our area or or budget. What can I do? Got to be out in 4 weeks (before 17th August) :wall:

hiya babes im going to pm you hunny i know i said i was away for a few monthsbut shhhhhh dont tell anyone i was here read your pm in about 20 mins

Sami,

Try your council, if you have confimation and a letter to prove you have to leave the house on a set date then the counsil/housing can either offer you a house or temp accomodation til a house becomes available!

my credit is bad i was refused by some agents but passed with others, i find that the small companys by pass credit checking well they make out they dont but im sure they do, large chain companies can be pretty strict. will you be getting your deposit back?

Not till i have returned the bills from this house (water/gas/elec) etc saying i have been cut off, so that wont be till a couple of weeks after we have moved out.

so you wil, have to find a depost then untioll you get it back...

thats what i had to do, it killed me i had to find a month and a halfs rent

Just spoke to the council, they can't speak with us till the 17th August (which is the day we have to move out by) and because we chose to give notice there is nothing we can do. So I guess it's find the money or nothing really? Unless we leave our stuff on the streets and get made homeless to make them listen

Yes Dionne we will, which we can't afford to do, and I don't think anyone can lend us it either, argh god damn! :wall:

hi hunny again im not here honest your all imagining it...lol

sami as we spoke earlier if you go down face to face with them they cannot refuse you a house when you are technicly becomming homeless. If you can i would go down tomorrow first thing if possible and demand to speak to someone they will see you. and you will get the help you need i will email you better later tonite if i get a chance if not i will mail you tomoz morning with better details

take care babes

Thanks hun, the woman was well rude to me on the phone, they always are round here, they treat you like a ponce :(
The only other option is get a loan to pay for all the costs. Ooo err missus! I shouldn't of handed it in  silly me  (have to laugh eh)

but look at it this way hun if u never handed it in then there is no way you would get a council house (the position were in :x ) or hand the nottice in and get a council house so whats really the pont in getting into more debt to get another private let house to go through the same later if that makes sence. Try with the council first before even considering getting more debt sorry if this seems a bit rude im trying to rush got colby and adele screaming...lol

but will definatly speak to you soon hunny

The council can't see us till the week we are due to move out which will be no use. We won't have anywhere to store our sofa/bed/furniture, etc, if we have to leave without having another place to move into. I know what you are saying babe, but not sure what other options we have right now.

they wont put you down as homeless hun as the way they see it your making yourself homeless, i had this problem i was told unless i am being kicked pout or the house is in a insafe way then its my problem

see if some one can lend you the deposit untill you get yours back. but bewarned they are hard to get them back they made out i had stolen the microwave??? even though there was never one there. charged me £100 for proffesional cleaners to scrub the oven even though it was cleaner then when i first moved in :x [/quote]

My brother had that problem Dionne, the landlord threatened to take him to small court over it BUT he had the arguement that the landlord didn't check the house before he moved in so he had no proof that it wasn't already there!

We had a problem with the council like that, Andy rang up as we couldn't afford the rent on the house we privately rented when i went on maternity, they had an interview with him and told him he earned to much for them toconsider us, they said as long as we are all fed then thats all tha matters... never mnid about clothes etc!!

Takes the piss doesn't it

I am hoping we get ours back, but then my daddy can always go in and have a word, he has done before and silly bloke left his handbrake off and his car went6 into my dads motorbike. Now they are scared of him

Awww Sami I hope you get it sorted soon, hun.

Right well I've rang up the letting agents, cried and begged, and they are going to keep us on for another 6 months. Didn't get a loan so we're stuck here. I guess it's for the best.

The important thing is you've got a roof over your heads Sami xx
