Hospital bag

I apologize for this question as it will have been asked a million times and I'm sure your all fed up of answering it! But I can't find any posts about it at the moment!

What do you need to pack in your hospital bag and at what stage of pregnancy did you pack it?
Also how long were you in hospital for?

This is what I put together - I was in and out of hospital so packed it asap the 1st time round and after a scare the second time round There is lots as I had to stay in at times so wanted all my own bits around me etc.

1st time I was in for 9 days (emergency CS and preclampsia before hand)
2nd time was 4 days (elected CS re Gestational Diabeties)

Hospital Bag – Me

· Comb/Hair bands
· Toiletries – Deodorant, Perfume, Toothpaste & Brush, Shampoo & Conditioner, Cotton Buds, Shower Gel, Moisturiser, Face Wipes, Bum Wipes, Razor, Nipple Spray, Pads
· Nursing Bra x 2
· Breast Pads
· 2 x Nightshirts/PJ Bottoms
· Slippers/Warm Socks
· Dressing Gown
· Set of Clothes
· 4 x Pants (plus disposable pants)
· 4 Socks
· Flannel, Towel
· Lip salve, Make up

· Change for phone
· Book/Pen
· Wordseach
· Camera, Batteries,Camcorder

Hospital Bag – Baby

· Nappies – 24 pack
· Hat
· Vests x 3
· Sleeveless Vests x 3
· Bodysuits x 3

· Muslin Squares/Burp Cloth

I packed my hossy bag a few weeks before i was due.

I stayed in hospital for about 45 hours.

In my bag i packed

PJs and a nightie (button fronted for breastfeeding)
5 pairs of black knickers (cheapo ones)
Outfit for coming home (joggers and jumper)
Slippers
Light Dressing Gown (hospital is very warm)
Towels 1 large 1 small (dark colour)
Toiletries (deo,toothpaste,toothbrush,showergel,brush etc)
Maternity Pads x 20
Breastpads
Nipple Cream
Nursing Bras
Hairbands
Money for phone, snacks, parking etc
Camera and batteries

For LO

Nappies
Cotton Wool
Vests x 4
Sleepsuits x 4
Hats x 3
Booties
Bibs
scratch mitts
Coat
Blanket

TBH i tried to keep it as minimal as possible as i knew i could get OH to bring me anything i needed.
Also i packed a plastic bag to put my dirty laundry in.

If you are using Tens machine remember to pack that.
Other people take music, magazines etc

My hospital bag was in the car around 35 weeks. I had a bit of a scare so it was there ready.

I had a sports bag which had:
2 nighties
2 packs of knickers. (£1 for a pack of 3, Asda)
Going home clothes
Toiletries
Breast Pads
Lots of pads
Dressing Gown
Camera
Parking Money
Spare undies and socks for OH. (I expected to be in labour hours!)

For Baby:
Nappies
Wipes
3 x Sleepsuits
3 x Vests
2 Hats
Coat
Scratch Mitts (Never used them)

I went into hospital at 6am, had her at 7.52am and came home at 4pm the next day.
I forgot a cardigan so hospital had to lend me one
