Hospital Appointment

Chloe has her appointment with the plastic surgeon on thursday ti discuss what they are going to do with her extra toe. Has anyone else had any experience with this as I really don't know what to expect

hello my cousins baby has an extra toe after her big toe. i went to the consultant appointment with her, basically they xrayed to see if there was any bone in the extra toe or where there wasnt bone, found it did have a bone but the normal one didnt so they are just taking the other one off and reconstructing so it looks like a normal foot. if she opted not to have this done she would apparently have walking problems, i wouldnt worry just see what they suggest, its fully fixable and stuff so i would think they will be able to do it as normal. good luck! xxx

Hiya!

My Cousin was born with an extra thumb. He had it x rayed and it had bone and nerves in it and it was stunting the normal thumbs growth so at 9 months it was removed. You'd never know he had it now apart from a small scar! He's 16 next week and hasn't had any problems with his hand at all.

Good luck to your baby girl! I'm sure she'll be just fine!

Thanks for your replies, they can not xray her foot until she is 6 months old, they will remove it before her 1st birthday

Are they actually going to remove the toe? How will that effect her?

They will need to remove it as she will not fit into shoes when she starts to walk, have to wait for the xrays to see how it is going to affect her, but by the way the specialist was talking she should be fine
