I have just found out I am pregnant and I have a holiday booked - does anyone know if I cancel it can I get reimbursed?

depends on the terms and conditions, when we went on holiday for honeymoon after i found out preg, i just informed the insurance company they said my insurance still stood but not for anything pregnancy related, ie if mc or anything that at own risk etc etc. xx

Thanks, I'm thinking I would like to cancel the trip now though (could do with the cash) and I wondered if they would pay out or not?

im not sure i think again you would sadly need to ring the small print or ring up and check with them? there will prob be a cancellation fee involved which will increase the closer to the holiday you get usually x

I have only booked flights luckily. However it is still £1,100 of flights I would like the money for - I'm not sure I can cancel with the airline.

This is what the small print says:

Cancellation
You are covered if your holiday is cancelled due to:
1) the death or disablement by bodily injury, pregnancy or being subject to quarantine of a) you b) anyone you are intending to stay or travel with c) an immediate relative

Sounds like u have to be disabled by pregnancy to be able to cancel! Best bet is to ring them, then u get a straightforward answer and u won't be guessing.

Sounds like you'd have to be told that it's medically unsafe for you to travel before you cancel it.

Have just booked a holiday to normandy and will be coming back when I am 36 + 6. France is closer to us than london is, so it's not too far away. Managed to find insurance through a company called raven hill, they were really good, so if you can't cancel it may be worth insuring against pregnancy related stuff through them.
