Hip Dysplasia.....

Hello,

I haven't posted for months been really busy, hope everyone is doing ok.

I have just found out that Katie has got Congenital Hip Dysplasia, we are currently waiting to see a specialist. The hospitals seem to take forever. I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience of this as I am really worried. It should have been picked up at birth but it was missed, also the health visitor didn't pick it up at her 9 month check. I noticed there was a problem when she started to walk round the furniture.

Anyway any advice or experiences from someone else would be great and what treatments were offered.

sorry i don't have any advise but wanted to offer a hug

i can't believe it was missed! is that where they move the babies legs around to hear for clicking???

Yes thats the one only Katie's don't click for some reason, but one of her legs looks shorter than the other.

Thank you for the hug though.

I am hoping she won't need an operation but it is likely that she will.
