I have been trying for a year now, and have just found out that It's unlikely that I ovulate at all. I am totally gutted. This means I cannot concieve naturally.

has anyone else got this problem and still managed to conceive? was it hard? what sort of drugs were you given? did they work or is IVF the only answer

I really need to hear something to to give me hope right now.

Hi Sophie

I'm really sorry to hear your news. I know it's absolutely no consolation for someone to tell you that they know exactly how you are feeling. I wanted to let you know that those feelings of rage, grief, guilt, jealousy, bitterness.... it's all fine to feel like that. It scared me to death crying as much as I did and feeling all those things. It was several months later when I saw an IVF counsellor and she told me that it's completely normal and totally natural to feel like that. I just wished someone had said that earlier to me.

Has your specialist talked to you about Clomid? It's a drug that stimulates ovulation. I've not been on it because OH also had problems as well as me so there was no point for us and we went straight to IVF. I know LauraB has and someone else (sorry can't remember who). They may be able to chip in about it. I know they put you on it for a max of 6 months and it can be a bumpy ride for some women (it is hormones after all!).

As for IVF, we're on our first cycle and it's not been easy by any stretch of the imagination but there is a part of you that feels an enormous relief that someone is actually doing something at long last. If you want to PM me about anything, feel free and I'll try to answer.

Hope that helps.
