What shops sell baby heart monitors.

Also are they any good?!

Was reading an article from 2009 from the guardian news paper and they say that the heart monitors a danger as you may be able to hear your own heart beat through the placenta which could give you false hope and results ..
Kinda put off buying one.

We got ours on line. I can hear my own heartbeat, but we are able to pick out the babies from mine by the speed. I always check mine first, then bubba's is twice as fast. So long as you know that there is a difference in speed then you should be able to distinguish what is yours from what is bubba's.

Ooooo thanks :) ...

Basically im just over 13 weeks .. And last night had red .. Yes bright red spotting!! And lil pain like period pain .. Me n hubby have been stressed recently due to moving house.. Hubby had his head to my belly for bout half hour said he felt a twitch .. Heard a fast beat and heard wooshing sounds ...

However not hearing it myself im not convinced .. And kinda doubting he heard any of that cause u cant ... Can you?
Inooo i should just ring midwife but just feel like a pest lol!!

Anyway the bleeding has stopped .. It wasnt heavy .. Just spotting well kinda big spots but was brighhhht red which is making me worry xx

We got ours on ebay as I was told the summer one sold on u toys r us is awful. So we have the angel sounds for 18.95. Its true you pick up your own HB and hear the placenta whooshing but there's a clear difference between that and LOs heartbeat, which should be twice as fast as yours. To start off with I used to feel my pulse while I listened so I knew when It was mine and when it was baby's x

Also I know from around 24wks they say your OH might hear hb if they rest their head on your bump but not sure you would that early. Really best thing to do is ring your MW they don't mind, I had bleeding early on and all was fine, try not to stress

Go and get checked out! I got an angle sounds and love it! Xxx

Hope all is well

We have the angelsounds, bought it from ebay. You will be able to tell the difference between you, baby and placenta. Your heartbeat is clear and you can hear it beat whilst checking against your pulse to be sure.
Baby sounds like a train, chugging away.
Placenta is more of a whoosh.

I also heard the summer monitors werent good early on and if you look they are recommended for late pregnancy. x

Thanks girlies!
Got scan tomoz at 10am!! So fingers crossed!

Yhhh looks like might have to be angel 1 .. I was looking at the lindam 1 as its only 12.99 lol any1 no anythin about that??
Xxx

Hope all went well at your scan this morning?! I have the angelsounds monitor as well.. I picked up the heartbeat from really early on, think it was around 11 weeks.. You can easily distinguish between your heartbeat and LOs heartbeat, as theirs should be about twice as fast, and the placenta is the whooshing sound. I use my monitor probably around once a week now, or to reassure me when I haven't felt any movement in a while..
Would definitely recommend it!
xx

Scan did go well thanks! 13 weeks due date 15th nov lol (changed again) ... They also moved my '12week scan' to next week as i wudda been 15 weeks bfor i had it .. Thanks think il get the angel 1 x
