and shes coming to see me on thursday at 10:30! feel slightly flappy now tho!! do i need to get anything ready? is it normal for them to come to the house?
she said it'll take about an hour..
AND she also said she'll book me for a scan at the catchment hospital BUT theres a hospital about 5mins away from us instead of the 30mins to the one she mentioned, am i able to say i want to go to the closer one? they're both in the same county so i don't think that makes a difference - any ideas?

HELP!!!!

its for your booking in hun she will talk through all the tests you can have a discuss the type of births that are available in your area and answer and things you might be worried about

**Breath** lol bless u!

Its just loadsssss of questions about familt health etc. if you have diabeties etc in the family...

Yeah ask for the hospital you prefer. No harm in asking. Even if you have to go to that one for your scan (you may be able to get in quicker) You can decide where you want to labour, if in a hospital at all!

Good luck!

Nope you don't have to do anything. Just your booking in appointment which is paperwork and a few bits like your BP etc. Early as well, usually from 8 weeks onwards.

You can choose your hospital so long as they have the facilities you want. Might want to research as to which hospital is actually rated better and has better reviews from Mums who've given birth in them. Might be one is a MW led unit, another consultant led. You might want to spend some time and look into it as your pregnancy progresses. No rush yet. Also consider homebirth if it appeals :)

Also it might be the hossie nearer does not do scans hence going to the other one. Ask her and see what she says.

Booking in is very simple just working out medical history that might be relevant, working out dates etc I had to go to the surgery for mine but maybe in your area they feel its more relaxing for you if they come to your home. The hospital near you may not have the scaning facilities needed, there is probably a reason why she has said it will be at the other hospital but I would ask her that when she comes to see you, I'd definately recommend writing down and questions or concerns you have so you don't forget to ask her all of them when you see her, if in doubt ask thats what they're there for!
