Hi. Can anyone advise? My company have been making redundancies but have offered me a fixed term contract role which I have the paperwork ready to sign. They do not know about my pregnancy and in reality I won't be able to fulfil the new role as I won't be here.
What can they do? Shall I sign then tell them or tell them first? I'm worried they could still make me redundant once they find out?

I'd sign it & wait to tell them. If they haven't included you In the redundancies they obviously want to keep you. They would have a difficult time making you redundant if you'd already signed a contract - but if you don't sign they could suddenly decide they want to make you redundant & you wouldn't have much of a leg to stand on. Wait until you sign & get a confirmation letter & then tell them. X

Sign it first. They cannot make you redundant because you are pregnant, it's illegal and you'd be able to claim unfair dismissal if they did. If you tell them you're pregnant first, they might find another reason to make you redundant to cover their backs, but it would very likely influence their decision. Sign it and secure your contract, you are entitled to maternity leave.
