I've gone from one extreme to the next! I was having trouble cutting down breast feeding, but eventually I got down to 3 - 4 feeds a day, which I was really happy with and have been doing for a couple of weeks, but now my milk seems to be drying up! :(

Any suggestions what I can do as really want to keep feeding Harry 3 -4 feeds a day for as long as I can...

Thanks :) xxx

Drink loads of water, eat oaty foods and perhaps fenugreek supplement tablets from holland and Barrett x

What makes you think you are drying up Hun? How old is LO?

Please excuse any typos from my fat fingers!

Harry is 15 weeks today:) The last couple of days when I've tried feeding him, he doesn't seem to swallow very much and is on the boob for ages and still seems hungry. Then I top him up with formula after and he drinks loads so think there can't be much milk in me for him? It's only been like this the last couple of days - for the last couple of weeks it's seems to have been fine.... xxx

I only ask because I know around the 4 month mark your milk settles down

I know that it happened to me and to a few other women on the forum?

Best way to increase milk is to get LO to feed more often, but not sure that is an option for you?

How long are you going in between feeds? Is it possible to maybe express?

theres also a growth spurt around 16 weeks that a lot of ppl mistake for the baby not being satisfied by milk anymore, let him feed as often as he wants and your supply will adjust to his needs

^^WSS hun my boobs went from being engorged all the time to completely normal xx

Thanks for the advice ladies :) It's a tricky one as don't want to go back BF-ing full time but not ready to stop completely. Maybe I was just used to my boobs being more engorged? I might try expressing/feeding a bit more just to bring my milk up again - just need to get the balance right so I can feed to suit me. At the moment I'm feeding at night, first thing in the morning, expressing in the afternoon (around 1 -2 pm) and feeding in the evening around 6pm. Will try and express a couple of times more and fx it will increase my milk to level I want. I'm not giving up yet!!

Thanks again! :) xxx
