Heat rash.....

Guest
anything you can do for it? Damien gets it really bad :( I keep him cool and undo his clothes when he is hot but he gets it all over his chest, arms, face and ears

I have the same problem. I have tried goats milk which certainly soothed her skin but didnt stop the rash. Tonight i am trying piriton so I will know when she gets up in the a.m if it has worked.

All last summer I battled this and even though I took her to the docs the only thing that really worked was a low doseage steriod cream which i used as little as possible but would have been happier with another solution.

Ella has had this today aswell, all over her tummy, in the creases of her arms and on her legs and face. Does it irritate them? she doesnt seem bothered by it. Never heard of using goats milk. in fact iv never bought goats milk!

piriton can't be used in under 12months :wall: I'll ask the HV when I see her. What steroid cream did you use? I'm not a fan of steroid cream either but if it's works and soothes him it'll be my only option I think.

hiya,
im not that impressed with the piriton, her skin isnt any better so i have been putting the goats milk on again. I didnt like the way as well that she staggered through to my bed this morning like she was wasted and she went straight to sleep which certainly isnt like her. Usually we have a half hour debate about getting up

The ointment I got from the doc was hydrocortisone b.p 2.5% and it clears it up but its not ideal and docs are reluctant to give it out but when a baby is scratching so much its drawing blood what else do you do?

Jess takes the goats milk in her bottle no problem so I might just go back to that.

It was someone who works for my dh who suggested it. He comes from a farming family and they would use it on cuts. When dh told me my first thought was 'where do I buy goats milk' but they had a carton in the supermarket.

Hi

Would calomine lotion help them? Or are they too young for it?

I used to get heat rash really bad when I was about 8 and the calomine lotion really soothed it and stopped it itching.

HTH

ok might sound really silly here but do they drink the goats milk or do you put it on the rash? I was looking at camomile lotion today wondering if that would help?

Not sure if this helps but the last few days when in the house and sleeping at night I only had Dom in a nappy with this comfort blanket. I was worried about him scratching his eczema without much on but he was ok and it cooled him down alot.

He also looked well cute ;)
