Unfortunately I've had heartburn start and as I am sure a lot of you know it's awful, especially at bedtime
So I thought I'd ask for remedies, what's worked for you, what would you recommend? I do drink a lot of milk but it doesn't stop it, hope you can help me out

TUMS, TUMS, TUMS!!!!

I'm in the states but found some when I came home at Christmas, just chew one and it goes......for a while anyway! I couldn't face having to drink anything!

Rennies are supposed to be quite good...........hope you find something to help soon.......so far I've escaped it (famous last words eh?)

Milk is another good heart-burn supressant :D

Hope it eases - can't be nice

GAVISCON!! my best friend! i have a HUGE bottle from the doctors, if i dont use it, it never goes away its awfulx

I suffered terribly in the last few weeks of my pregnancy, I got Gaviscon liquid and it was great, really did the trick and kept it at bay for a few hours. You can get a prescription for it off your midwife, otherwise its about 8 or 9 quid for a big bottle. My tip if you do try it out is to get the mint flavour cos its much nicer than the aniseed. Also if you get the indigestion all the time then ask for a big bottle cos the little one wont last you too long!

Thankyou everyone, tums, rennies and gaviscon, I'm sure one of them will work, it's nice to know you can take them while pregnant too, as we all know most things are off limits, so thankyou for the advice and information

I have had hideous heart burn all the way through ans can't stand gaviscon as I find it foams in my mouth!!!! I like the rennie chewys as they taste nice, which they need to I eat them like sweets!!!!

Gaviscon, i'm getting mine on perscription too, going through a big bottle every 10 days or so, and at £10 a bottle, i'm getting it for free!

i'm not sure exactly what heartburn is!!!?

but i read propping ur head on extra pillows helps x

I have some tablets off the doctor and they are great. Sitting up also helps.

trixipaws, it's like a heat sensation in your throat and sometimes belly, its odd but its uncomfortable, especially if you're trying to sleep as it can be constant.

I got some Gaviscon and tum tums, and before bed I take a spoonful of the first, then have the tum tums ready for if I can't sleep because of it, and its been working, so thanks everyone
