How much gaviscon can I take i have had one spoon but heartburn is still burning :-(

my mate drinks it from the bottle!! I was told 2-4 5ml spoonfuls every 4 hrs xx

I've been plagued as well, just take a swig out of the bottle, works alot better! the gaviscon double action iss really good, as is the advance, but you have to get that on prescription. My DH gets it on prescription so i take that if its really bad, ask the midwife as they will prescribe it if your really suffering.
I also find eating bread or something to help soak up the acid helps, and avoid fruit juices, fatty or spicy foods, they seem to make it worse. Good luck!

MW told me to take as per the instructions on the bottle.... but tbh, I just take a swig lol

swig out the bottle, get the stuff on scrip as its thicker and dosent taste as bad, milk can also help as can bread or cakes but nothing too sweet or fatty or spicy as said above. ive had acid reflux for a few years so ive had horrid heartburn loads of times, even had to go to a and e once lol. now im pg they wont give me the antacid pills so these are what i do when it flares up

Gotta get my prescription for thrush tomorrow so j will get doc to add gaviscon

i have up with gaviscon did nothing for me so managed to get very low dose omeprazole i told dr i was drinking gaviscon and he laughed and said most prego woman do

lol omaprezole is gods gift!!!!!!!! they wont give me mine lol

why not bev must admit they would only let me have them if i took it for 2 weeks and re tried gaviscon

normally i get omaprezole every few months for a week or two to calm down my acid but this time cos im pg they just gave me more gaviscon so im just drinking that. been ok for a couple of weeks but im sure it'll flare up again later on. then depending how bad it gets i may bug the doctor again lol

The bicarbonate of soda in Refreshers helps with the heartburn, and eating sweets is better than taking medicine. ^_^

Have you tried milk? I absolutely hate the stuff (and normally only drink soy milk, which I find less sickening), but I find it does help with the heartburn.

Ok so shopping list milk and refreshers or and yogurt for thrush

I've heard love hearts help too. Not tried it yet but might do soon as I'm swigging gaviscon before bed too!
