My OH bought a heart monitor yesterday as a present and it doesn't even work! It was a £30 one from Tesco so chances are it is just a cheap peice of junk but I just got so excited when he gave me it as I love hearing Aimee's heartbeat that I feel so disappointed. Can anyone reccommend a good one?

Cheaper ones from Angelsounds seem to give good results for many. They are around £20.

It may be just a faulty one. Take it back and swap it before going out and buying another or having a refund.

Are you used to using one as sometimes finding the HB can be hit and miss.

Hiya ive got one of those and its very hit and miss even if you know where to find the heartbeat!!!

I found with mine (as ive used it with all 3 of my pregnancies) that i could only really find my babys heartbeats from around 32 weeks.

I got mine from Argos.

Hiya we got that one from Tescos and it is absolute rubbish, we couldn't hear a thing (let alone hiccups as it says on the box!!!). We tried to find my heartbeat on it and that was very faint.
So don't worry about your LO it's the monitor that's absolute pants!!!

Hiya Hun,

I think the one your describing is the same one that I got bought for xmas from my friend. Is it the one with a belt? If it is I never could hear my sons heartbeat on it or any other noises to be honest. It is crap IMHO.

I bought an angelsounds one from ebay at 16 weeks and used to used it every other day til I was about 32 weeks then just used it on a weekly ish basis. I had no probs with it at all an would reccommend it.

Take the one back to tesco and buy the angelsounds one, I think there only about £20.

xx

Thanks for replies! All I could hear was inside bodily noises! I tried to locate my heartbeat and couldn't get it which lead to my OH calling me 'heartless'... as all men would do!
