Im just wondering what the norm is for babies being seen by hv's
Im guessing it is different in areas?
My lg is a few months over 2, apart from having all the immunisations that she needs so far, she hasnt been seen since she was 4 months and that was more for me as it was a weaning chat.
Some people i know have been seen much more, including checks at one and two years.
Ive no concerns about my lg, im just a bit curious as to whether we have slipped the net?
I know i could enquire with my new gp ( weve just moved areas) but im merely curious.

They do a 8-12 month development check usually. Then I think she said they come again when they are 2. It might be different in different areas tho x

My area is a drop in clinic, I think we are expected to drop in once a month until they are a year. Our practice is good I've just finished a free 6 week massage class, this week I've got a weaning class and next week a safety session.

With my eldest I saw her once a week till she was 5 weeks and that was it until I arranged a weaning chat at 6 months. She's now 2.8 and that was it.
My youngest is 10 months old and we saw the HV once when she was 12 days old and that's been it! Rubbish!

I thought they were supposed to do a developmental review, around 9-12 months-ish. We're due to have one at 9 & half months old.

We have to make each appointment with them at the doctors surgery and then there's drop in clinics for weighing and overall health checks.
In my area they don't chase you to see them, I think it's because there's only 2 health visitors covering a 20 mile radius here. I definitely think it must be different in different areas and different practices.

Hi hun the health visitor arranged appointments for development checks at 9 months and then again at 2yr4 month xxx

I see my HV monthly where i live & she is pleased with my little boy so not like we need the visit. We love her coming though as she is lovely

We had a check with my eldest at 18 months and two years.

Where we live the HV visits loads, once a week for the first eight weeks and then once a month it seems. She said herself she didn't need to come quite so often with this being my second baby and I obviously know what I'm doing. We do live in a low income area of North Wales whish obviously gets Welsh government money thrown at it for things like this, as we're also entitled to free childcare from two.

My HV is great. I've seen her a few times and the other day she popped round as I had a question about switching formula. She's prescribed creams for baby that are expensive in the shops, and says I can call her any time for any type of cream or advice.

It's a one year and 2.5 year check here.

I was living in a different postcode for the one year check and I had to really chase them down to get an appointment etc... With the 2.5y check we'd moved and the HV sent me a letter with a date (which was convenient) and a questionnaire to fill out - we just popped along on the agreed date.

I go to baby clinic with Bee for regular weigh-ins and they always make sure I know I can see HV for James if I have any concerns.
