Ok.. Here goes a rant.
In Feb when my niece (my boyfriends brothers daughter, age 5 was staying over) We noticed she had headlice. We never said anything, as I didn't feel comfortable and I just assumed that her mum would see them.
So a few weeks later start of march she still had them, I had her one day and noticed it in her hair when she was getting in the car....
So long story short theres been incidents throughout the year so far that iv noticed headlice... One day my SIL did mention she can get the headlice stuff free under the nhs minor ailments service, this is what we had been talking about...
So couple of weeks ago she was saying over and again she had nits... So I had to say something. So I just sent her a text saying she had been scratching her hair, she might of needed to have a wee check, and I was really nice about it. And she text back saying oh it's never ending. I'll have a look.
Now yesterday my niece and SIL were in the back of my car, and niece was scratching her hair, and saying she was really itchy... And my SIL snapped at her and cheekily said well iv checked your hair. And I felt it was kind of aimed at me.
My baby is due next week, and I look after my niece 1 day a week during the holidays, and I know she will see the baby alot at grandparents house. And she's such a great wee girl... But I'm terrified my baby's going to get headlice!!
I spoke to my OH and he doesn't have any ideas, what to do as iv already mentioned it...
Am I just being paranoid? Or is it possible for my baby to catch them from her when she has them?
Any suggestions what to do?

iv no idea about babies and lice but was gonna say you're gonna have to tell her mum. id just nake sure you subtly reiterate ita no eeflection on her etc...... but its not fair on the wee girl whos suffering because of it! alternatively if you tell the mum and she does nothing then id put the tment on myself when she comes and if sil says anything id explain that you dont wanna catch them, pass them on tp baby and that lo was sad. buy I would only do that as a last resort though. chances are the liytle.girl is getting rios of them and catching them again as with I was at school I had them ever week at one point xx

I'd never say anything to my wee niece :( I love spending time with her and she's so excited about the baby...!
I just feel rotten cause she's obviously suffering.
I understand when she's at school, it must be hard. But it's the summer holidays here (Scotland) and has been for a month!
I'm just concerned now that it's constant! Every few weeks/ month...xxz

we had this problem with my nephews. you need to mention it everytime you see them. apes obviously picking them up easily. i had them loads as a did, got them do easily with such thick hair...i was mortified everytime and wouldnt go out til they were gone!!

bed clothes etc need to be cleaned too!! the schools normally send them home until they're gone...

Sent from my shit hot phone! Fo shizzle home girls.

Thanks! Just got a phonecall from my MIL saying SIL herself has headlice, she can't make dinner tonight. Hairdresser found them... Oh dear!
I'm glad my MIL knows now... She will hopefully keep an eye out!xx

migjt be easier now mil kniws. honestly when I was a littke girl I caught them every week for a couple of.months. its no reflection of cleanliness or hygeine or anything just one of those things x
