Heading off a chest infection?

Ok so I went to my parents last two night for dinner, And my dad has this awful chest infection, on penicillin for it..

This morning I woke up and my chest just feels like crap, Not coughing or anything yet, but ive had bronchitus and stuff before, and it feels like the very start of that or something.. Wont be able to get to docs till wednesday as i booked all my other appts for mon and tues this week, anyone got tips for heading it off or keeping it at bay for a couple days before I can goto the doc?

steam therapy is good - sitting with bath or shower on so rom fills with stem unless u got a steamer x
