I've been getting a lot too lately and paracetmol just weren't doing a darn thing  Went to the doctor yesterday who diagnosed sinusitis, gave me some amoxicillin and some co-codamol and it finally seems to be going :cheer:

I just wish I knew I could take co-codamol earlier! Apparently it's fine now, just not in the later stage of pregnancy (I assume due to the baby getting codeine withdrawal symptoms maybe?

Oh the past few days I've been plagued with them!!
I developed one around 4pm yesterday, just a mild irritation, it got a little worse by bedtime and I thought I'd sleep it off. Well it kept me up all blooming night, had paracetamol at 4.30am and then again at 8.30am. Decided then to get up and showered. They are driving me potty!!

Any tips? I'm seeing the midwife Tuesday, will mention it to her for sure.

I should drink more water then? I drink loads of sugar free cranberry & apple juice though....all liquid? A few glasses of milk etc...is it just water or are most liquids etc counted in that?

I was having a lot of headaches a few weeks ago. I put it down to having a cold/sinusitis but I'm also sure I was quite dehydrated at the time. I'm now trying hard to drink more water and heavily diluted squash.

Oh the other thing to get checked is your eyesight. If the headaches continue it could be that as pregnancy can affect your vision. My prescription has just changed for the first time in 4 years!

To anyone suffering from headaches  Hope you feel better soon x

 to all of you with headaches there's nothing worse. One thing I've learnt over the years is that once there is the slighted touch of pain to take the pain killers then they work quicker and you don't need as many.

Ouch! Ive had one of them alday aswell!!!!! Its worse that i have to work on the computer aswell! :wall: :wall: :wall:

Plenty of water should do the trick!

i had terrible ones, got worried and moaned to midwife who said they were hormonal and totally normal.

Had 3 days off work as they were so bad. Touch wood they seem to have gone away now but from week 15 - 19 had them every week, I hung it out and only too 6 paracetamol over that period, but did want to lay down and cry
  to you ladies - it will go away and be all worth it in the end

Little update: I've increased water (not just juice, milk etc) and spoke to my midwife yesterday....she said I should get my eyes tested so I have an appointment at 9am today, see what they say then I doubt it's that (but worth checking) but at least it would rule it out I suppose. Updates later

Good luck with your eye test. Don't forget to tell the optician you are pregnant! :)

My headaches were always over my right eye. When I had my eyes re-tested my prescription was raised in that eye which seemed a bit of a co-incidence  I don't get the headaches much at all now.

Well just as I thought, my eyes are completely fine, no prescription needed what so ever, my field vision is perfect, no issues with colours etc so I'm back to my hormone/water theory. At least I've had it done and it's another thing the midwife can't have a pop at me about!!

Aaawww, headaches are awful aren;t they I do hope they ease up for everyone

And it's true there's no substitute for water, as headaches can be caused by the body dehydrating, which means all water is sparse and as your arms, legs etc need water to work, the brain suffers by being drained.

So drink lots of water, juice or anything else cannot be a substitute for plain old water, I use a 2ltr pop bottle, pop it in the fridge everyday all full up, then you know you've had your 2ltrs at least, when it's empty
