Hi,

I'm wondering if I can take headache tablets or paracetamol - I'm only 10weeks pregnant and am worried incase they may affect the baby.

Thnak you x

You can take paracetomol safely in pregnancy. You can also take co-codomol but I would speak to your doctor first to have this prescribed - just as a matter of caution.

Hope you feel better soon!

I also take paracetamol but only when REALLY needed, I also found that just one tablet helps me since I got pregnant ... shocking really because before I got preggers I used to think paracetamol was crap

I spoke to my midwife last week about the very same thing, as I have been getting a lot of headaches with this pregnancy. She told me that it's perfectly safe to take normal amounts of paracetomol, as it cannot pass the placenta, so none of it will get across to the baby. It's a big relief, as I've been taking it loads recently.
