Have I started to use OPK's to late?

Hi all I'm new to OPK's and was just wondering if I have missed my ovulation day? I have never ovulated properly due to PCOS and being overweight, I have recently lost 8 stone in weight though and I'm hoping this will help me ovulate and conceive. It's just the lines on my OPK's that I have taken are now getting lighter and I haven't actually had a second line as dark as the control line so I'm confused, wondering if I started the OPK's to late or may not of ovulated at all once again. :(

Hi there! Well done on the weight loss, fingers cross it will help you get the bfp soon!

I would say you ovulated between CD17-CD18. I wouldn't always look for a line stronger than control line... I know I am ovulating and most of the time the line is not quite as dark as the control line. It is best to start testing from around cd10, after some time you will get an idea when it is that you normally ovulate. For me the line is strongest between CD16-CD18.

Good luck x

Congrats on the weight loss..it will help. I had to lose 9 stone and my cycles are pretty good now. Your positive looks like the first one. Obviously the day before may have been more pos if you'd done it. Ideally you want a line darker than the test line, but it's really just the darkest line for you. So if it's lighter than the test line but still the darkest for that cycle it's a positive. You will ovulate between 12 and 48 hours after a positive, so between 18th and 20th. So you could in theory ovulate today. The egg lasts up to 24 hours, so I'd dtd today just in case if possible. Good luck!!
