hardly any naps today eeek

i was happy this morning when max self settled, we had a great day of naps yesterday (now im trying to do a routine)

but all hes had is literally half hour this morning n 20 mins this afternoon!!

hes miserable and i keep trying to get him to sleep n its not happening, now its too late so im gonna give him a feed soon, bath, then another feed and hope he sleeps well later.

not sure how im gonna fit all that in before he finally drops off but i dont want him to sleep now til 7 really

ahhhh is it gonna really affect him not sleeping all day do you think???

he will probably be fairly grumpy and just pass out at some point. is he having a growth spurt as they can play havoc with naps and sleep

well i dont knw, he doesnt seem to be eating anymore than normal but hes miserable lol!

hes 10 weeks, do they usually have a growth spurt at 10 weeks?

think its just an off day, he can do this sometimes, its usually after a really good day!

could be an off day hun, when alyssa is teething or having a growth spurt it messes with her naps. they usually have growth spurts every 4 weeks so at 10 weeks he should be inbetween the 8 and 12 week ones. i hope hes not a terror for you later hun. it could be that hes learnt a lot the last few days and its disturbing his naps processing all the new info

yeah possibly, ive been trying to interact with him so much more now that hes alot more aware so i spend most of our day looking around and talking to to him about everything, showing him everything etc

i hope he just goes down at 7 and stays down til 7 am

When Albert started sleeping through he dropped his naps significantly, and the ones he did have were shorter and lighter. If Max is getting the deep sleep he needs over night he won't always nap that much xxxxxxxx

ya never know tho lol i did have one day with alyssa where she wouldnt nap for more than 10 mins and by 11pm she was comatose lol

I love it when they sleep like that. I have a pic somewhere where we made it look like Albert was picking his nose. You can literally do anything with them

yeah lol, its disturbingly like having a dead baby tho and positioning them for photos just reminds me of those mourning photos they took in victorian times

Eeeewwww yeah I've seen those, very creepy . When I was younger I worked in an undertakers and I was in charge of the chapel of rest so did the dressing and make up and stuff. Well, this fella had died of a convulsion and had two cuts on his bottom lip, a hooked nose, prominent chin, slicked back black hair and dressed in his morning suit he looked like the archetypal vampire lol. I said to the manageress that if he sat up and moved in any way I would brain him with a candlestick lol. His family came in and took pics which creeped me out big time

Well I managed it! Two feeds and a bath and now he's asleep on me. Just gotta get the guts to stand up and put him in his cot now...

he actually did really well last night! so im thinking the shorter naps are a good thing!!

8pm-12.30am
12.45am-5am
5.15am-7am

All of a sudden he will lose that awake time over night hun. Albert would take a while to nod off again after his night feeds and then he figured out that when mummy was sat on the edge of the bed sobbing it was night time and he should be asleep lol

They're so perceptive!! The past few night's I've been bad mummy and brought him into bed for a feed and he's slept next to me during the awake time. Not a habit I want to keep but if it gets him through that gap in the middle!! Xx

I wouldn't worry too much about not doing certain things, as long as everything is safe, you can't spoil them by sleeping with them in bed etc, in those early weeks u gotta do what gets you through it easiest!! Xxxxx
