Never used them , thinking of using one as i have noticed many of u seems to use it.
My hair is thick and wavy . not very dry but frizzy. I normally just blow dry the front bit and the rest looks fine . but would like to have that nice sleek look.
do u recommend me to use one?
how effective it is in straightning and is it enough or i need to blow dry as well?
how long does it take to straighten my whole hair btw i have long hair.

it depends what type of straighteners you use. I have some GHD'S and i dont always bother blow drying (unless i want more volume). I only have short hair and it literally takes me 3 mins to straighten it. However before i bought my GHD'S it'd take me over 20mins to get it completely straight.

GHD's are definately the best, but are a bit pricey. I dont have to blow dry my hair before using them. It takes me about 5 mins to straighten my hair which is pretty thick and shoulder length.

Once you've used them tho you'll never be able to go back to non-straightened hair tho!! :D

My hairs fairly wavey too and I straighten it lots :? don't think my hair enjoys it too much but I find it makes a big difference.

I use these from argos http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... assoon.htm

I would love to get some GHDs but they are quite pricey but if you can afford them its worth it but it might be worth just giving those other ones a go just till your used to the whole straightening thing. It probably only takes me about 10mins to do my hair then a bit longer if I haven't dried it properly the night before because my hairs all curly and v.long. Also it would be good just to get a heat protector spray from boots for your hair so it doesn't get too frazzled.

GHDS are only the best straighteners in the world ever! A lot of salons and professional hair dressers use them.

WELL worth the money if you can afford them. I only got mine a month ago and will never use anything but them now! I managed to get some off ebay. Average price on there is around £90 for the new MK4'S.

GHD's are a brand of hair straighteners and TBH they are the best. I have had most other makes but they are rubbish in comparison to GHD's. The only thing is they are quite expensive.

My MIL gave me mine though :D

thanks for the replies ladies. I guess i'll be trying one then. it sounds worth it from what u all say.

I remember the very first time I used hair straighteners, I have straight hair anyway but they made it so smooth and sleek... I felt great that day

I agree GHD's are the best plus if the ever break etc just send them back and they send you a new pair for free :D

I use GHD's too but I only ever use them on dry hair, do some of you use them when your hair is wet? I usually wash and rough dry my hair then use the GHD's and straighten my hair in sections. They are excellent and even if you go out in damp weather your hair won't frizz or kink.

If you have days when you don't want to use straighteners then if you dry your hair and put Vitapoint on it it really gets rid of frizz. I used vitapoint for years before I had GHD's because my hair is also wavy and thick. Its like a creamy leave in conditioner you just run through your hair. You can buy it from chemists and tesco sell it.

:D

I never use my GHD's when my hair is wet. I always roughly dry it off or leave it to dry naturally then use them.

My hair frizzy and wavy. It is a big pain in the bum most days. My straighteners went kaput last week so I've been trying to get a new pair. I am considering the GHDs. My hair isn't thick. It is actually paper thin but the frizz and waves gives it the illusion of being thick until it is straightened.

GHDS all the way

Ive got thick wavy hair and have tried several brands.

Spending the extra money is well worth it the finish you get is "like youve just stepped out of the Salon"

I also have GHD straighteners and I love them :D but what about GHD brushes? are they worth the price? I'm particularly thinking of the GHD paddle brush for detangling, brushing, straightening (very) long hair,,,
