I've just got back from my 37 week presentation scan. I needed a late scan to confirm the baby's position as I am planning a home water birth.

It was lovely to see our baby again and everything was so detailed. Even though it was just the usual 2D NHS scan, we still got a picture of the baby's face and hand - he or she looks really grumpy! Hopefully baby will cheer up before the birth!

So, all is good, we are all systems go for our home birth and I am just waiting.....and waiting......and waiting! I can't believe that I have made it to 'full term' and only have 3 weeks left until the official due date - it would be lovely if baby came a little early though :)

Congrats, I had mine last week but scan was rubbish! Was a portable one, done the job of checking baby is head down though so at least I don't have to worry about that! X

Congrats hun!!!! The countdown is on!

Is it routine to have a late scan to check position?

Xx

No it's not. My first child was breech and I was worried this one was, so mw booked me in x x

When are you due Kandle? Think you may be the first of our April mummies! xx

Ooh fab, all systems go then - just need baby to get a wriggle on now! I think you are next on the April mummies list! X

Glad everything is ok for a home birth,

Got my scan friday to check position, but don't think she has turned, can feel her head by my ribs, HB is by my belly button and any kicks are low down, so looks like a c-section for me :(

@ Flopsy - the presentations scan for me is just because I want a home birth. The medics have to be sure that there are no risk factors eg - breech or transverse position.

@ Amanda - due date is 11th April. Would be lovely to go a little early though, but I am realistic!

@ Rosa - My baby was laid transverse for forever, then did the half spin we were looking for at about 33 weeks, so it is possible. My midwife said that there was no point in doing the presentation scan before 37 weeks, as babies move position up until that time, so I guess you might be lucky?!?!
